AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Venture, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications.  Our talented team of engineers, managers and technologists conceive, design, develop and manufacture high precision products in an environment that requires significant collaboration and teamwork among multiple engineering disciplines. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician 3 to support our Silicon Carbide (SiC) Foundry in Devens, MA.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician 3 performs repairs and maintenance on machines and equipment in a manufacturing environment. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment

  • Perform all maintenance trades as needed to keep facility operational

  • Maintains Preventative Maintenance Database and is responsible for on time completion of defined tasks

  • Repair, construct, install, troubleshoot, and maintain routine electrical systems and equipment

  • Performs EHS inspections; examples include fire extinguisher/eye wash inspections and emergency lights

  • Install, repair, or replace switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords

  • Disassemble motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair

  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, inspect circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and test electrical equipment for safety and efficiency

  • Assists in preparing capital projects

  • Close coordination with outside vendors and suppliers

  • Ensure snow removal from doorways and walkways in winter

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience in Facilities Maintenance

  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications

  • Experience using hand and power tools

  • Experience in testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and/or equipment

  • Ability to manage daily activities to maintain buildings with little supervision

  • Strong problem solving, collaboration skills and verbal/written communication skills

  • Will require the ability to occasionally be on call during critical processes; e.g. startup of major capital projects, contact service contractors to resolve facility issues during off hours, etc

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • US Citizenship is a requirement for employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed electrician with full knowledge of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical and HVAC systems

  • Experience with high temperature vacuum furnacing and pumping systems

  • Experience with Process Cooling Water Systems; e.g. water towers, scroll chillers, dry coolers, etc

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures

  • Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work

  • Manual dexterity and good hand/eye coordination


Salary Range: $56,600 USD - $94,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
