Facility Engineering Manager

Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Manager of Facility Engineering to provide leadership to our Defense Group team in our Ronkonkoma, NY offices.

Overview:

Oversight of Site Environmental Health and Safety program ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and corporate regulations.

Oversite of Quality Management System in compliance with AS9100 Rev D.

Interfaces with customers, vendors, and with NG Manufacturing, Integration & Test and Engineering organizations to ensure facilities support identify and resolve mission assurance quality issues. 

Operation, oversight, and maintenance facility equipment and systems.

Operation, oversight, utilization, and maintenance of Government Furnished Equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Management of capital projects to schedule and budget.
  • Identifies and implements cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements within facility operations.
  • Develop and oversee annual facility maintenance program
  • Develop and oversee annual Government Furnished Equipment maintenance program
  • Lead Facility IPT Team.
  • Proactively seek out improvements for the facility.
  • Be and advocate for change
  • Lead documented safety audits to ensure implemented precautions are being followed.
  • Participate in design reviews for new and modified facilities, processes, equipment and tooling for safety-regulated compliance to help ensure the safety of the employees and the process.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigation to help determine causes and corrective actions as needed.
  • Schedule and lead safety related training courses.
  • Writes and updates safety programs, manuals and procedures.
  • Provides accurate and timely information to management on safety issues
  • Leads and implements Quality Assurance programs, AS9100 D procedures and controls ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence.
  • Leads the development, implementation and maintenance of quality policy and procedures. Interfaces with suppliers in the verification of product design and reliability.
  • Reviews practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
  • Interprets customer technical requirements, ensuring these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
  • Provide oversight in discrepancy review, failure investigations, as well as cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and executes improvements on key metrics.
  • Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers.
  • Performs Root Cause and Problem-Solving initiatives.
  • Conducts internal audits to demonstrate compliance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical engineering with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of three years relevant facilities experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Technical expertise and working knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with automated test equipment
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Systems
  • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety- OSHA
  • Experience with ASME pressure vessel Code
  • Experience with maintenance protocols
  • Experience with management of Government furnished Material/Equipment
  • Strong communication and documentations skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Test laboratory environment
  • Lean or other continuous improvement experience
  • Experience in Project Scheduling/Forecasting
  • Experience with Industry standard maintenance protocols for Hardware and Software
  • 2 years managerial experience

Salary Range: $92,600 USD - $138,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
