Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Facility Engineer - level 2 or 3 to provide leadership to our Defense Group team in our Ronkonkoma, NY offices.

The position will be filled to either a level 2 or level 3 depending upon demonstrated education, experience, and competency.

Overview:

Leadership and oversight of facility equipment and maintenance.

Supports compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental safety.

Performs duties in compliance with AS9100 Rev D, addressing design, manufacturing, integration, and test activities.

Interfaces with customers, vendors, and with NG Manufacturing, Integration & Test and Engineering organizations to ensure facilities support identify and resolve operational shortcomings and improvements. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Management of capital projects to schedule and budget.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities within facility operations.
  • Maintain Facilities documentation and Share Point site.
  • Develop and oversee annual facility maintenance schedule
  • Active participation on Facility IPT Team.
  • Proactively seek out improvements for the facility.
  • Be and advocate for change
  • Participate in safety audits to ensure implemented precautions are being followed.
  • Lead design reviews for new and modified facilities, processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigation to help determine causes and corrective actions as needed.
  • Works within and provides improvements to Quality Assurance programs, AS9100 D procedures and controls ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence.
  • Supports the development, implementation and maintenance of quality policy and procedures. Interfaces with suppliers in the verification of product design and reliability.
  • Reviews practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality.
  • Interprets customer technical requirements, ensuring these requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications and product drawings.
  • Provide input in discrepancy review, failure investigations, as well as cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and executes improvements on key metrics.
  • Ensure program contract requirements are flowed down internally and to suppliers.
  • Performs Root Cause and Problem Solving projects.
  • Conducts internal audits to demonstrate compliance.

Requirements for level 2:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Requires BS in STEM and two years of experience.  Will consider those with a MS in STEM and zero years of experience.
  • Possess a valid Professional Engineering (PE) License. Desired but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-disciplined and able to work independently
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of activities for timely response and results
  • Able to read engineering documentation and inspect drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  • Understanding and application of safety regulations, standards, principles, theories, and techniques.
  • Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • Solid modeling experience. Pro E / Unigraphics / AutoCAD

Requirements for level 3:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Requires BS in STEM and five years of experience.  Will consider those with a MS in STEM and three years of experience.
  • Possess a valid Professional Engineering (PE) License. Desired but not required.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Experience in lean manufacturing
  • Experience in aerospace industry


Salary Range: $77,100 USD - $115,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $95,000 USD - $142,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
