Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Maintenance Technician 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Dayton, OH. facility.  We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications.  We design and manufacturer solutions for our war fighters to keep our country safe and maintain peace on a global scale. 

The Maintenance Technician 2 or 3 performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Machinery and equipment may include autoclaves, ovens, CNC’s, motors, controls, and pumps.

**This is a 1st shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. This position requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Work within several trades in carpentry, plumbing, painting, maintenance, machine, equipment repair and electrical.
  • Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Use hand tools and power tools.
  • Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
  • Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications.

**This position can be filled at either a Maintenance Technician level 2 or a Maintenance Technician level 3

Basic Qualifications Maintenance Technician Level 2:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to work within MS applications i.e., MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF (with the ability to create, edit, log and track data in spreadsheets).
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for 2 or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable timeframe as required by the business.

Basic Qualifications Maintenance Technician Level 3:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Relative facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to work within MS applications i.e., MS Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF (with the ability to create, edit, log and track data in spreadsheets).
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for 2 or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance within a reasonable. timeframe as required by the business.

Preferred Qualifications Maintenance Technician Level 2 & 3:

  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or facilities engineering.
  • Strong problem solving, collaboration skills and verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to manage daily activities while maintaining buildings and equipment with minimal supervision.

This position reports to Beavercreek, OH, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Kettering, OH, OH, USA.


Salary Range: $43,200 USD - $72,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $51,400 USD - $85,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
