Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) to join our Maintenance Team. This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division to be hired and working in our Clearfield Freeport Center with the anticipation that the position will be transferred to report out of our Copper Crossing Value Stream location in Salt Lake City after training has concluded and operation is ready to commence.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Millwright position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, as well as new construction on plant facilities, and equipment. While this position will have an emphasis on performing typical Millwright activities, the candidate will be expected to perform other Mechanical and other building maintenance disciplines, and repair industrial plant processing equipment and vehicles.
Candidates possessing skills and experience in other mechanical disciplines are preferred. Some shift work and overtime may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
• Journeyman Millwright.
• 6 years recent work experience as a Journeyman Millwright with skills in maintaining and repair of industrial plant processing equipment.
• Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
• Plumber / Pipefitter
• Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Certified Welder
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
Education/Certifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification as a Journeyman Millwright, having completed apprenticeship and applicable training from an accredited institute.
