We have a need for ONE Aviation Ordnanceman’s (USN “AO” rating) with experience on the F-18 E/F Super Hornet aircraft.  This effort will support a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program in New Orleans, LA (NOLA).  Although this is an FMS program, this position is not deployable.  All work will occur at the NAS Joint Reserve Base in NOLA.  This position will support the first shift. Assignment start is 6 June 2023 and will initially consist of one month of training and certifications before hands-on aircraft.

The F-18 E/F Aviation Ordnanceman will be responsible for Organizational Level (“O” level) support of all the aircraft’s Ordnance systems.  To include:

  • Understanding pre / post flight activities and inspections
  • Performing maintenance operations on F-18 aircraft, aircraft equipment, drop tanks, pylons, components, and systems in accordance all applicable directives.
  • Ability to read and interpret, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Able to setup and use a torque wrench and use common hand tools such as: wrenches, safety wire pliers, etc.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform such tasks as preventive maintenance, testing of bomb racks, missile launchers, rocket launchers, handling equipment, loading equipment, aircraft guns.
  • Understanding of basic aviation theory and skills, along with electronic troubleshooting.
  • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical weapons and ordnance systems on aircraft.
  • Servicing ammunition and launching devices.

The successful candidate will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of all Aircraft Ordnance systems aboard the aircraft and will be tasked to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems encountered.  You may also be called upon to also provide technical advice, training, and troubleshooting assistance to “O” Level technicians.

You should be familiar with IETM’s, as well as the NAMP 4790 and applicable NAVAIR technical publications.  As required, you may be required to generate written reports for management in support of any contractual obligations.

Basic Qualifications:

Should have at least 3 years of F/A-18 E/F experience and familiarity with F/A-18 inspections, servicing, troubleshooting, removals, and repairs.

Must have and maintain an active secret DOD clearance

Must have comprehensive written and verbal English communication skills.

Must have the ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate customer maintenance requirements.

Must be able to clearly document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, parts requests, etc. 

Must be able to perform assigned duties while wearing required safety equipment.

Will be required to comply with all rules and regulations concerning health and safety, tool control, FOD control, and all training and certification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong preference to candidates who have supported U.S. Navy F-18 squadrons on deployment.

A & P License

Certified in seat removal.


Salary Range: $53,300 USD - $88,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
