If so, our Defense Systems Lifecycle Sustainment & Modernization Solutions Operating Unit wants YOU to join our Team as an Aircraft Mechanic 4 and join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as an Aircraft Mechanic supporting the B-2 Moderation/Sustainment Team at Whiteman AFB, Mo.
Job Description:
Perform a variety of operations such as remove/install aircraft engines, electrical wiring, coaxial cables and low observables
Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals
Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose malfunctions to properly identify and correct problems in minimum time
Interpret blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include: precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Measures parts with precision tools such as, micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions
Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with Air Force technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations
May perform similar duties in aircraft build, modification, or maintenance role
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience in manufacturing/production
Able to meet the physical demands of this position, including: regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
Must be willing to work either first or second shift, overtime, holidays, and weekends
The ability to pass Special Medical/Respiratory Exam
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years
Completion of A&P certificate program or Associates degree in an applicable field
Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to work with others at all levels of the organization
Prior B-2 maintenance expertise
Previous composite, manufacturing, or production experience
Quality Assurance experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to meet customer needs
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
