Inspects space vehicle components, parts, and sub-assemblies for conformance to government and/or company standards and specifications. Inspects the adjustments, repairs, or modifications made to components, sub-assemblies, support equipment and final products. Will monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma/equivalent
  • U.S. citizen
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in the use of Microsoft applications and ability learn new computer programs/applications easily. 

  • Excellent technical writing skills are required. 

  • Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift activities and occasional overtime or weekend support is required. 

  • Previous experience working in ISO certified environment and using Process Specifications or Military Standards to inform inspection or work activities 

  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance inspector or equivalent role in either a system-level or integration & test environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace workmanship standards for aerospace vehicle electrical harnesses, including crimping and/or soldering (e.g. IPC-A-620, NASA 8739 series, etc...) 

  • Strong work ethic and a good attitude - it should be evident from the output of work that the best possible effort was given. 

  • Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area without needing much direction from manager or team lead 

  • Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings, part lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions. 

  • Knowledge of TipQA, Costpoint, MES, or other database applications 

  • Knowledge on how to read & interpret schematics and wire lists 

  • Active workmanship certifications from accreditation/standards companies (e.g. IPC) 

  • Technical Associates (2 year) degree from accredited institution 

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one 


Salary Range: $27 USD - $43 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
