The Lead Inspector will ensure compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration Regulations and company standards in accordance with FAR Parts 91, 135 and 145, the Northrop Grumman General Maintenance Manual, and the Northrop Grumman Repair Station Manual and apply those regulations, procedures and policies to the inspection and maintenance of all company aircraft. Ensure all required inspection and maintenance items are completed prior to Release/Return to Service of all company aircraft. Responsible to the Chief Inspector in assisting with the tracking of required inspection and maintenance items using various Computerized Maintenance Program's and generating monthly maintenance projections. Coordinate planning of parts procurement and maintenance scheduling with the Director of Maintenance, Chief Inspector, and Maintenance Supervisor's. Works with vendors and manufacturers at their facilities to inspect and review work progress on company aircraft and assist in verifying aircraft airworthiness prior to returning to service.

Works in concert with the Director of Maintenance and Chief Inspector to coordinate Evaluation and Functional Check Flight's. Performs airworthiness inspections and determinations. Coordinates and informs the Director of Maintenance, Supervisors, and department Technicians, the Inspection Status of all company jet aircraft. Will be called upon to contribute to the maintenance effort as a technician from time-to-time as operational necessities dictate.

Complies with all company safety and security requirements and safeguards company and government information.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificates

  • High School Diploma and 6 - 10 years of corporate jet maintenance experience

  • Previous Inspection and Return to Service experience as it pertains to FAR Part 91, 135, and 145

  • Previous experience and participation in FAA audits and inspections

  • Working knowledge of CESCOM and CMP maintenance tracking programs

  • Ability to pass and participate in an Initial and Random FAA and company-mandated Drug and Alcohol Testing Program

  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security credentials

  • Ability to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment

  • Possess a current, state-issued driver's license

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current FAA inspection Authorization

  • 10 - 13 years of corporate jet maintenance experience with an emphasis in Return to Service and RII Program authority

  • Factory training and experience on Cessna Citation and Gulfstream aircraft

  • 2 - 4 years of experience as a Chief or Lead Inspector

  • Experience in department representation at FAA audits and inspections

  • Expertise in CESCOM, CMP, and/or other computerized maintenance tracking programs

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products


Salary Range: $79,800 USD - $133,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
