Duties:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on product throughout the SMF work centers (Receiving, Manufacturing, or Integration and Test) and perform product build documentation review and end-item data package review. 
  • Perform inspections on both Electrical and Mechanical components at the piece part level as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level.
  • Identify discrepant conditions and generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes
  • Practically apply process specifications and use applicable workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
  • Perform reviews of product build documentation for configuration audit to determine if as-built meets as-designed.
  • Act as safety representative during critical and hazardous operations for assigned spacecraft.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/equivalent
  • Must have an active or current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, or relevant experience in Electrical or Mechanical field of work in performance of technical job function.
  • U.S. citizen
  • Strong work ethic and good attitude - it should be evident from output of work that the best possible effort was given.
  • Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area without needing to be constantly coached or led to next assignment.
  • Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
  • Willingness to work off shift activities with occasional overtime, weekend, and Holiday support as required.
  • Willingness to support 2nd shift (if required), and occasionally (though not often) 3rd shift support for short periods of Spacecraft testing.
  • Willingness to travel (though not often) in support of S/C level activities is required.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft applications and have the ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
  • Basic technical writing skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a TS secured environment utilizing an active TS/SCI.
  • Associates (2 year) degree from accredited institute.
  • Working knowledge of TipQA and/or Costpoint database applications.
  • Knowledge in how to read schematics and wirelists is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in ISO-certified company and using Process Specifications or Military Standards.
  • Active workmanship certifications from accreditation/standards companies, such as IPC


Salary Range: $27 USD - $39 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
