Requirements and Responsibilities:

Inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in Gigatrak (tool tracking software). Replenish consumables and orders new tools and equipment as needed. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Job Description:

  • Will work in a tool crib facility that will directly support daily machining, welding and heat treating of flight tank components.
  • Requisitions, receives, stores, identifies, and issues tool kits, individual hand tools, fixtures, shop supplies, measuring devices, and personal protective equipment for three core areas of manufacturing, machine shop, heat treat, and weld shop.
  • Support internal manufacturing, operations and engineering customers by rapidly sourcing and procuring various non-flight tools, fixtures, shop aides, manufacturing supplies, etc.
  • Maintains records of tools issued to employees; takes periodic inventory and requisitions stock as needed; reports damaged, worn out, or missing equipment using Gigatrak to enter transactions.
  • Operates a computer workstation and must have a demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, inventory control systems, precise measuring equipment and be familiar with FOD control procedures and processes.
  • Establishes and maintains required inventories and prepares estimates of future requirements for consumables.
  • Cleans, oils, and performs minor repairs on tooling and measuring equipment; disposes of surplus or obsolete equipment in accordance with established procedure.
  • Ensures that measuring devices are routinely inspected & calibrated. Manage shop drawings and set-up instructions.
  • Rearrange fixtures and tools on storage racks to increase optimization.Participate in 5S assessments and Kaizen events and support the closure of resulting actions and opportunities.
  • Support and maintain the various daily management visual boards used throughout the organization which plan daily tasks, monitor safety, quality, delivery, employee and cost performance and plan/implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • (Level 2): Must have a High School Diploma/GED and at least 2 years` of experience in a tool crib, maintenance/manufacturing environment, or tool inventory control position
  • (Level 3): Must have a High School Diploma/GED and at least 4 years` of experience in a tool crib, maintenance/manufacturing environment, or tool inventory control position
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be able to work standing up for extended periods of time.
  • Able to use/hold/manipulate small tools and parts with hands. Simple grasping, power grasping and fine manipulation is required.
  • Able to use vibrating tools and perform torqueing operations, including use of hand tools & power equipment and climb ladders or stairs.
  • Must be detail oriented, teamwork oriented, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to learn and follow established processes, procedures, and requirements.
  • The ability to read mechanical blueprints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Machining experience a plus
  • Experience driving forklifts and using overhead cranes
  • Knowledge of tool tracking software such as Stanley toolbox or Gigatrak

Salary Range: $39,900 USD - $66,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $47,600 USD - $79,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
