The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. The selected candidate will be an Engineering functional leader for the NOALS contract located at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO. The selected candidate will help to build, develop and manage operations and support personnel. In addition, they will be responsible for identifying resource needs (people, tools, areas, support services) and working with stakeholders to address these needs.

The new manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing 10-12 logistics, facilities, and technical personnel.

  • Ensuring qualified and experienced personnel are assigned to meet the staffing needs of the NOALS contract to ensure mission success.

  • The role includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management, and separation of assigned employees. 

  • Responsible for overall success of logistics operations and facilities maintenance.

  • Analyses and forecasts division or group resource needs for logistics and facilities operations.

  • Ensuring that properly trained and qualified personnel resources are available.

  • May be assigned Northrop management responsibilities in areas other than logistics and facilities as required.

  • Working with business development to investigate logistics and facilities operations opportunities.

In addition to the functional role, our ideal candidate will be a working technical leader – the split between direct and indirect is approximately 80%/20%. Duties will be supporting logistics and facilities operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree & 5 years’ experience in NOPS logistics operations and facilities management. 4 additional years required in lieu of a degree.

  • Demonstrated experience in management and leadership role

  • A current/active TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph is required to be considered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in controlling the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements.

  • Experience in ensuring the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions

  • Experience in building relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives

  • Prior work leading teams and managing direct reports


Salary Range: $84,200 USD - $126,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
