Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Driver. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

What you’ll get to do: 

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • The position will operate heavy-duty truck (typically with either semi-trailer or heavy-duty trailer) to transport materials, merchandise, or equipment within an industrial area.
  • Coordinates the loading or unloading of trucks and trailers.
  • Makes minor mechanical adjustments.
  • Accountable for all aspects of safe operations of vehicle and equipment used in transporting company and government owned assets.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll bring these qualifications:

  • High School Diploma plus 2 or more years driving experience.
  • Must have a current Class A CDL with the ability to obtain applicable endorsements, such as Haz-Mat, Passenger
  • Shall provide a current MVR with zero moving violations in the past year.
  • Must meet all DOT pre-employment requirements
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment and work well with customers.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

These qualifications would be nice to have:

  • Knowledge of FMCSR regulations
  • Must possess the ability to read in-plant handling manual instructions including special tie-down arrangements and general and special safety equipment.
  • Two-year driving transportation vehicles of up to vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or its equivalent in on-the-job training either as a medium equipment or forklift operator.
  • Functional with basic computer functions including Word, and ability to operate mobile devices (iPad).

Salary Range: $53,300 USD - $71,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
