Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist, supporting DOD Naval and Marine related products for our Sunnyvale, CA location. This position is available for remote work.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for supporting Marine Systems (MARSYS) Global Supply Chain (GSC) general procurement team. The Supply Chain Procurement Specialist should possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized and professional. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supplier Management
    • Monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
    • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
    • Facilitate new supplier onboarding and interface with Vendor Administration and suppliers to oversee completion of registration processes.
    • Work with suppliers to maintain regular vendor maintenance and annual certifications.
  • Procurement
    • The supply chain procurement specialist will track and monitor procurements that are critical to program execution with urgency.
    • Issue and maintain purchase orders in accordance with Mission Systems Principles and Operating Practices (MS PrOP).
    • Evaluate and analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers for goods and services as well as identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Interface with stakeholders and accounting for payment resolution.
    • Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to receiving inspection organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
    • Review open invoices and approve supplier payment as needed.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with GSC policies and procedures including cybersecurity regulations.
    • Must have good oral and written communication skills and be able present delivery status information to both function and program leadership.
    • Works well both internal and external customers adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
    • Collaborate with Suppliers and Cyber Security team to ensure supplier compliance.
    • Interface and collaborate with Programs and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, supply chain, or similar with 3+ years of business experience or a Master's degree with 1+ years of business experience. Business experience shall be in subcontracts management, contracts management, and/or purchasing or related global supply chain and business management functions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Contracts and/or subcontracts experience on US Government contract(s), including negotiations
  • Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a Government approved purchasing system
  • Familiarity with NGAS Subcontracting terms and conditions
  • Experience with SAP 

This position reports to Sunnyvale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Unknown, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $58,000 USD - $95,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
