Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently hiring for a Principal or Senior Principal Supply Chain Procurement Specialist to join our Airborne Multifunction Sensors Division Global Supply Chain team, primarily supporting space programs.  This position is located in Baltimore, MD .with a hybrid option(preferred). May also consider full time remote.

Job Duties:

  • Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers.
  • Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and analyzes proposed pricing from potential suppliers.
  • In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.
  • Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required. Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
  • Issues purchase orders and manages its life cycle.
  • Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation& warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
  • Reviews and approves supplier payments as needed.

The basic Band 3 requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Six+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or Four+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master’s Degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications for Band 3:

  • Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company.
  • Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supply Chain or Procurement experience
  • FAR/DFARS or government contracts experience
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Experience with MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills

The basic Band 4 requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Ten+ years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, Eight years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master’s Degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office

The preferred Band 4 requirements are:

  • Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company.
  • Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supply Chain or Procurement experience

This position reports to Linthicum, MD, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Unknown, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $71,400 USD - $112,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,500 USD - $139,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
