SSSD has an opening for a Principal Material Requirements Planning Control Analyst (Level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at our Space Park facility in Redondo Beach, California.

Roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing material management and analysis support of complex programs.

  • Coordinating and supporting development of material requirements among multiple subsystem Control Account Managers (CAMs) and programs.

  • Developing program integrated Bills of Material, support definition and validation of program material requirements, and support material/production planning to enable the efficient approval of purchase requisitions.

  • Interacting with Engineering, Purchasing, Stock Room, Receiving Inspection, Operations, and other departments to provide accurate status of material availability requirements for meeting program integration schedules.

  • Developing subject matter expertise in the Material and Subcontract Management aspects of the Earned Value Management System guidelines.

  • Supporting program Earned Value Management processes through development and maintenance of material cost and schedule forecasts from initial planning through execution.

  • Developing baseline cost and schedule plans, including definition of material work packages and planning packages including material categorization and assignment of applicable earned value measurement techniques.

  • Supporting integration of material requirements into program integrated Master Schedules.

  • Providing reporting of program material status and analysis of material variances to plan and other applicable metrics.

  • Implementing internal and customer driven budget changes and contract change implementation.

  • Providing process training and support internal and external EVMS surveillance.

  • Supporting Material Management and Accounting and Government Property Management System processes through development of subject matter expertise, delivery of training, and oversight of material related business and procurement processes to ensure conformance with program contractual requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in material planning, logistics, supply chain, or procurement – OR – a Master’s degree with 3+ years of related professional experience – OR – High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 9 years of combined applicable experience.

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management.

  • Proficient at creating plans in Solumina.

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point).

  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.  US Citizenship is a prerequisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current and active Top Secret clearance.

  • Familiarity with supply chain processes, material planning, or material management and control.


Salary Range: $78,500 USD - $117,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
