Associate / Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Clearance Required)

Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Specialist Level 1 or 2 (Clearance Required) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.

• 2nd shift, 3/10 schedule Friday - Sunday
• Position is in-office, unable to accommodate a telecommute/hybrid schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Defines and develops material strategy in tandem with manufacturing and production environments.

• Responsible for the assessment of supply chain resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements and the delivery for critical production parts.

• Develops, coordinates, and executes material forecasting and part delivery schedules.

• Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity, and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.

• Participate in affordability, cost savings, and/or process improvement strategies. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.

• Monitors inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.

• Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.

• Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.

• Interfaces with source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.

• Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts.

• Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements. Works closely with procurement team to coordinate/plan outside processing of parts/material with various suppliers/vendors, and coordinates/plans transportation of parts/material to/from vendor/supplier.

• Supports manufacturing production providing planned and unplanned requirements in an expedited manner.

• Collaborate cross functionally with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and other support functions.

• Prioritize and communicate impacts of current and potential material and part shortages.

• Operate company-owned vehicles to execute pick-up and delivery of parts between Northrop Grumman sites/buildings, and offsite locations at times. 

Additional job duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Work additional hours and/or days to support program needs when required. 

• Assist team supply chain technical coordinators when needed.

Basic Qualifications (Level 1):

• Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years of experience with a High School diploma/equivalent. Experience must be in supply chain, procurement, logistics or another relevant field.

• Familiar with Microsoft Suite with an emphasis on Excel and Power Point.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills. Must have developed organizational skills and the ability to handle multi-tasking in a high paced and dynamic environment.

• Self-motivated and able to work as a teammate and independently.

• Ability to obtain forklift certification.

• Ability to perform 60% desk work and 40% production shop floor part integration responsibilities with the ability to lift, push, pull up to 30 pounds.

• Ability to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time during the assigned shift.

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company-owned vehicles (potentially in the dark at times)

• Must have an active DOD Secret Clearance to apply/start and ability to obtain/maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (after starting).

• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience, a Master's degree with at least 1 year of experience, or a High School diploma/equivalent with at least 7 years of experience. Experience must be in supply chain, procurement, logistics or another relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from accredited institution

• Experience with ERP system, specifically SAP desired.

• Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing.

• MES Program Experience.

• Experience working knowledge in production planning process.

• Working knowledge with Total Quality Management and/or, Procurement, and/or Supplier Quality Assurance.

Salary Range: $58,000 USD - $87,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $70,200 USD - $105,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
