Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in our San Diego, CA location supporting the program portfolio within the Communications Solutions BU. This position is Onsite/Hybrid located in San Diego, CA. We are unable to accommodate a full-time remote arrangement. What you'll get to do:
- Develops supply chain strategy and leads activities for GSC in all phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
- Manages the GSC scope for multifaceted program(s), proposal through close-out. Coordinates interdepartmental activity, directs communication, coordinates with Suppliers, and integrates efforts across all GSC functions.
- Coordinates cross-functionally (with all program functions) to ensure supply chain commitments are met and that appropriate integrated mitigation or opportunity plans are developed and executed.
- Leads supply chain execution and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and issue resolution.
- Aligns project scope and deliverables with customer requirements and works closely with the technical community.
- Demonstrates problem solving skills in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering, or program management.
- Briefs the GSCPM on the status and issues affecting program performance: Cost, risks and opportunities, and schedule.
- Will be involved in special projects and continuous improvement activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Program/Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field
- Experience working in Global Supply Chain
- Proficient with SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
- Proficient in supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, and supplier/program/product scheduling
- Working knowledge of Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR and FAR/DFARS
- Must be able to acquire and maintain DoD Secret Security clearance
- Must be able to acquire and maintain program special accesses (as needed)
- Excel and analytical skills
- US Citizen required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret or Top-Secret Security clearance (US citizenship)
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Proficient in Earned Value Management Systems
- Control Account Manager (CAM) certification
- ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certifications
- Experience working with multiple complex contracting types and agreements, including Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable, and possess knowledge relating to special payment provisions (progress of performance base payments).
- Experience with proposal process, pricing instructions, and terms and conditions
- Master's Degree
