This Principal Supply Chain Program Specialist position is supporting the Launcher Operating Unit. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work with all different function groups to ensure materials PO are placed and delivered to meet program requirements. It is a fast-paced working environment with unlimited learning opportunities. It is up to 25% travel to meet with Customer and suppliers. Defines and develops material strategy. Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products. Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management.

Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.

Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.

Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.

Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.

 Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed. Creates/releases requisitions. Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

 Work with Program Office, Business Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineers, Procurement and Agency team to ensure PO are placed, materials are delivered and meeting production schedule. Monthly presentation to management team on the program progress.

Weekly deliverables include supplier's deliveries, MRP release status, PO placement. Bi-monthly updating IMS schedule.

Attending Risk & Opportunities meeting weekly to bi-weekly to work through risk mitigation steps to ensure program is trending to the right direction.

 Attending mid-month and month end IMS meeting to ensure material delivery schedule are in alignment with production.

This position has a high requirement of EVMS (Earned Value Management Systems). A CAM (Control Account Manager) training must be taken and passed to fully execute this position. Need to be able to build pivot tables and provide data analysis from in excel to provide management on the material and labor trend to ensure cost and schedule are met within program budget. Intermediate to advanced excel skills are preferred.

This job can be worked out of Sunnyvale, CA, Hybrid or Remote. Pacific Time Zone preferred. Travel to meet business requirements are required.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with 6+ years working experience in supply chain, business management or project management or related field

Master’s degree with 4+ years working experience in supply chain, business management or project management or related field

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel experience

Must possess strong leadership and mentoring capabilities of junior SCPPs in addition to strong presentation skills directed to all levels of internal/external management

Preferred Qualification:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Finance

Previous working experience in Defense Industry

Earned Value Management experience

This position reports to Sunnyvale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Unknown, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $78,500 USD - $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
