Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist level 3 or Sr. Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist level 4 to the GSC Cell Operations team in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid schedule required (50% in-office presence).

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Works alongside production control and manufacturing personnel to review material shortages for upcoming production.
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material, and rough-cut capacity for all products
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity, and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • Collaborates with Programs to Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs
  • Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed
  • Communicate with suppliers and NG Supplier Leads for purchase order status, lead times and delivery dates. Collaboratively resolves supply chain issues
  • Analyzes reports in MS Excel to identify critical-path procurements and forecast material shortages
  • Formulates and executes plans to mitigate material shortages

Basic Qualifications for the level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of production control, supply chain, operations or related experience; 4+ years of production control, supply chain, operations or related experience with a master’s degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications for the level 3:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects
  • Demonstrated capabilities in material management, dock to stock flow, outsourced kitting, and MRP in an SAP Environment (or something similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-discipline, and cross-function as part of a top performing team
  • Hands-on experience developing / implementing common processes, product templates / standards / checklists, metrics, root cause/corrective actions and training
  • Effective oral and written communications skills, capable of translating and presenting complex project concepts to management and stakeholders, through presentations and other written formats

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of production control, supply chain, operations or related experience; 8+ years of production control, supply chain, operations or related experience with a master’s degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications for the level 4:

Salary Range: $82,400 USD - $123,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
