Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 4) or a STAFF Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 5) to join our Payload and Ground Systems (PGS) team in Linthicum, MD.

The primary responsibility of this position will focus on the supply chain aspect of all proposals within the Remote Sensing Programs Business Unit.  The position will also be involved with programmatic supply chain execution in a rapidly growing business area.  As a Senior Principal or STAFF level employee, the role will be responsible for providing global supply chain planning process and compliance guidance to junior planning specialists, Supplier Management Teams, and Integrated Product Teams. The role will provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of supplier and material management.  The candidate is expected to work under general direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated.  The person in this position is expected to perform independently with minimal management oversight.

The candidate should possess a strong understanding of the supply chain proposal process and have experience in cost and pricing data analysis, understanding TINA thresholds, similar-too analysis, and fair and reasonable competition.  The candidate must have exceptional writing skills, strong organizational skills, and be comfortable presenting to Executives.  The person in this role will be expected to develop and implement process improvement initiatives that result in the development of compliant proposals, best practices across Global Supply Chain, and strategic supplier management.  This position could involve Control Account Management (CAM) financial and schedule responsibilities which includes Earned Value Management tracking, Intranet Program Review System (IPRS) reporting, and implementing Return to Green (RTG) plans.   The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management or related field; 8 years with a Master’s for a Level 4

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management or related field; 13 years with a Master’s for a Level 5

  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance

  • Minimum of 4+ years demonstrated success/problem solving skills in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering or program management

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SAP

  • Demonstrated leadership success and ability to influence team members, interact with peers and all levels of management in the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience conducting oral presentations to senior leadership

  • Previous Team Lead or Management experience

  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience or training

  • Risk mitigation experience

  • Change Management experience

  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance


Salary Range: $102,200 USD - $153,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $126,600 USD - $190,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
