AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Unit, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. We are currently seeking a Material Planning Control Analyst to support our manufacturing operations is Devens, MA.

Overview

The Material Planning Control Analyst (MPCA) will be responsible for providing and supporting materials management in a government contract and commercial environment.  Their core responsibility will be to the creation of the material requisition process. They will oversee the flow of material from receiving to the production floor.  Based on significant experience and understanding of MRP systems, he/she will perform activities to insure a smooth flow, tracking and traceability of materials.  The MPCA will perform a variety of activities in support of the Material Planning Functional Group and will interact and support other functional groups such as Finance, Purchasing, Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Control.

The incumbent will be a key user of our MRP system.  They will support other material planning staff, providing mentoring in core skill areas, and interact with internal customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. The MPCA is generally experienced in one or more areas of the materials function and has the ability to prioritize their workload according to contract schedules, while monitoring workflow to manufacturing floor. Candidate must have the ability to analyze production material requirements and execute a plan to successfully communicate and act upon the production schedule. Develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate material workflow for one or multiple programs and products

  • Work within material planning to determine and schedule materials needed to cover production demand

  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

  • Prepare and submit status and performance reports

  • Keep paperwork organized

  • Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff

  • Ownership of the material requisition process.

  • Metrics associated with product line or system production

  • Maintaining product status board, progress reports, schedules and other related records

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ additional education and/or related experience

    • Experience working with an inventory and / or materials requirements planning (MRP) system

    • Good written and verbal communication skills

    • Ability to work well as part of an integrated team including technicians, engineers, principal level engineers/scientists along with internal and external customers

    • High level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel; basic experience with PowerPoint

    • Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced, highly technical work environment

    • Minimum 3 years’ related experience in planning or support role

    • Responsible self-starter and team player with manufacturing or service experience

    • Great problem solving skills

    • U.S. Citizenship is a bona fide requirement

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree business management or related technical field

    • 3+ Years’ experience in inventory/ material or production planning or related experience

    • Past experience and involvement with production or materials planning

    Working Environment & Physical Demands:
    • Position is located at AOX Devens MA and provides support to the East Hartford, CT facility as needed

    • Ability to handle and inspect very fragile, very expensive objects without damaging them.

    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and light physical effort required

    Salary Range: $39,900 USD - $66,500 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
