Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is seeking a Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist (Level 2) or a Principal Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist (Level 3) to join our team in Azusa, CA. This position will be joining a team of diverse individuals in our Global Supply Chain team, supporting our Strategic Force Programs. PT remote work may be considered.

The subcontract specialist will get an opportunity to source and procure goods and services of a commodity and/or complex electromechanical sub-assembly nature from many suppliers. Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers. In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules. Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations. Issues purchase orders. Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with GSC policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to receiving inspection organization so that proper receipt is recorded. Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.

In addition, the supply chain subcontract specialist will track and monitor procurements that are critical to program execution. Must have good oral and written communication skills and be able present delivery status information to both function and program leadership. Works well both internal and external customers and be to adapt to dynamic work environment.

Basic Qualifications: (Level 2)

  • Bachelor’s Degree & 3 years of related subcontracts experience, OR a Master’s Degree & 1 year of related subcontracts experience

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Understanding of FAR regulations in support of government contracting

  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD secret security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Basic Qualifications: (Level 3)

  • Bachelor’s Degree & 6 years of related subcontracts experience, OR a Master’s Degree & 4 years of related subcontracts experience

  • Working knowledge of SAP

  • Understanding of FAR regulations in support of government contracting

  • Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD secret security clearance (US Citizenship Required)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree in Business with an emphasis in supply chain management

  • 6+ years or subcontracts experience

  • Current & active DoD secret security clearance or higher


Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
