If you are interested in becoming part of the Space Division team, we have an opening for a Global Supply Chain Manager Level 1 or Level 2 for our Redondo Beach, CA location. Role reports to Manager, Global Supply Chain, Parts and Material Integration, within the Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD).  As a manager, you will be leading a group of 12 or less of Material Requirements Planners.

This role can be filled at either a Level 1 or Level 2. The candidate must meet the basic qualifications as outlined below.

The manager has the responsibility to:

  • Perform resource planning and staffing to meet program demands. 
  • Participate in career fairs, social networking events, and college hiring events to attract talent to the organization.
  • Promote team member development including skills training, professional seminar sponsorship, and training material development.
  • Be an advocate for the career advancement of your team by promoting knowledge sharing and mentor / protégé relationships.
  • Execute performance management, including employee goal setting, feedback solicitation, performance discussions, compensation planning, and issue resolution.
  • Lead the deployment, measurement, and improvement of tailored, lean processes and tools and sponsor reduction strategies.
  • Provide proposal, technical project standup, and program review support.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Managing a team providing career development guidance, performance review evaluation, fulfilling staffing requirements
  • Oversee day to day GSC MRP organization execution for an assigned work scope
  • Liaison between the GSC Program Managers and the GSC MRP Organization
  • Liaison between GSC MRP Organization and the other GSC functional organizations
  • Liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Mission Assurance/Quality, and GSC functional organizations
  • Manage MRP staffing across programs collaborating with GSC Program Managers
  • Creation, maintenance, improvement of GSC MRP processes
  • Effectively tracking multiple issues simultaneously through the GSC processes; presentations and concise reporting/tracking of issues to the GSC Organization and GSC PMs
  • Manage supply chain acquisitions for program: 1) Analyze future demand needs and determine MRP Staffing 2) Assist in tracking and coordinating, CRIT1 Status and other high priority procurements to assist MRPs; 3) Work hand and with all GSC organizations
  • Presentations to senior leadership (directors through VPs)
  • Problem solver that effectively works with cross functional/org teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Basic knowledge & familiarity with SAP
  • Able to effectively utilize program management skills to drive program GSC execution across multiple organizations with differing priorities including effective use of soft skills (primarily knowledge-based leadership, tact, persuasion, negotiation, and interpersonal charisma)
  • Self-motivated/proactive, organized, responsive, reliable, flexible, and detail-oriented
  • Desire to work cooperatively within a team
  • Ability to develop, utilize, and apply data analytic tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experienced in dynamic environments where there are schedule changes, part failures/issues, design changes, testing failures etc.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with a broad variety of personality types in a team environment

Manager 1

Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering experience, 4 years with a master’s degree.

Manager 2

Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of Project Management, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering experience, 6 years with a master’s degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Management experience
  • Facility and experience working in SAP
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Materials and Processes (M&P) and associated suppliers
  • Experience supporting large & unique aerospace programs
  • Demonstrated flexibility and agility, prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines
  • Experience and/or familiarity with key Northrop Grumman GSC functions including Advanced Planning (AP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and Parts Management Integration (MRP)
  • Prior Global Supply Chain experience
  • Active DOD Clearances: Top Secret and/or SCI

Salary Range: $101,800 USD - $152,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $122,200 USD - $183,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
