Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals!

This position can be located in either Melbourne, Florida or St. Augustine, Florida and on a 9/80 work schedule. Offers the opportunity for a partially hybrid remote schedule.

Exciting opportunity to develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms & conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and/or services. Prepare bid packages, conducts bidders conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts. Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Participates with contracts administration and purchasing to develop subcontract policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration and closeout phases

  • Assesses supplier performance and regularly communicates feedback to Supplier Leadership

  • Manages supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycle

  • Ensures compliance with all FAR, DFARS and public law requirements, as well as company policies and procedures

  • Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations

  • Cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders

  • Contributes to Program Risk and Opportunity management

  • Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university with at least 6 years of experience or a Master's  Degree with at least  4 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent with at least 10 years' experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, supplier management, and/or related professional experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, SAP, and Sharepoint

  • Must have proficiency and experience supporting sole source and competitive acquisitions

  • Previous experience with FAR, DFARS, and other U.S. Federal Government contracting regulations

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active, DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to understand and analyze complex proposal data

  • Must have the ability to communicate strategically across associated subject areas and cross functional teams

  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (JD, MBA, finance, etc.)

  • Current Active, DOD Secret Security Clearance

  • Certificate in Contracts Management and/or NCMA certification

  • Recent experience as a Contracts Professional in the defense industry

  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman businesses, policies and practices

  • Strong negotiation experience in an Aerospace environment

  • Experience with multiple contract types

  • Demonstrated high sense of urgency

  • Ability to effectively present to all levels of leadership

Salary Range: $72,400 - $108,600

This position reports to Melbourne, FL, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Saint Augustine, FL, FL, USA.

Salary Range: $72,400 USD - $108,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
