Are you ready to put your Management and Experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, our Defense Systems sector wants you to join our Team as a Global Supply Chain Manger. This true leader will be responsible for ensuring Supply Chain performance and that the Subcontractor(s) adhere to the cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of the contract. Brief Operating Unit (OU) management and the Customer on the status/issues affecting performance, schedule, or cost; and conduct program reviews with the Subcontractors, Program Office, and the Senior Leadership Team at the OU.

As a Manager for Global Supply Chain, you will interface with multiple internal and external functional areas including Program Management, Operations, Engineering, Mission Assurance, other Northrop Grumman functional departments, and our government partner. The manager responsibilities will encompass the full range of the procurement and subcontract acquisition process including participation in strategic sourcing decisions, international subcontracting, teaming agreement generation and execution, preparing requests for proposals consistent with customer solicitations, federal statutes and regulations and  enterprise policies and procedures, evaluating proposal submissions, identifying risk and mitigation strategies, and preparing subcontract files in compliance with Northrop Grumman values, policies, procedures, and practices.

Leadership characteristics and people engagement is of the upmost importance with an ability to exhibit professionalism and create a team working and learning environment. Communication is paramount, with an ability to clearly define expectations and work through issues. Additional leadership characteristics include the ability and willingness to assume accountability when the perception of need exists, and an ability to accomplish tasks in a positive manner while managing multiple projects at the same time with varying levels of maturity. Delivering status reports, reacting to urgent requirements, applying supply chain knowledge and experience to successfully navigate high pace and high-level expectations, educating Program team, direct reports, and suppliers on processes, capabilities, policy, FAR/DFARS, and procurement and subcontracting principles.

This position is full-time at our Warner Robins, Georgia facilities or may consider remote.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Will have responsibilities for evaluating proposal submissions, identifying risk and mitigation strategies, developing negotiation plans and negotiating, and preparing subcontract files in compliance with Northrop Grumman principles and operating practices.

  • Collaborating with program management and other multi-functional departments for subcontract requirements.

  • Will manage a team of supply chain professionals and buyers, and will be responsible for delivering status reports, act with a sense of urgency in response to exigent requirements, applying supply chain knowledge and experience to successfully navigate high pace and high-level expectations.

  • Use your outstanding written and verbal communication skills and be extremely organized in order to accomplish the required tasks and brief OU Management.

  • Quickly identify and communicate risk and opportunity.

  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships.

  • Use your understanding of established processes and procedures and identify efficiencies in specific program processes.

  • Align team goals to Sector and Division objectives.

  • Manage subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the services performed on the programs.

  • Evaluate subcontractor performance, quality, and cost.

  • Coordinate and manage a diverse group of people and skills as well as influence others outside of his/her specific area of responsibility.

  • Plan, schedule and arrange activities to accomplish objectives.

  • Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts/

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of supply chain / subcontracts / program management or operations experience may also be considered. May consider high school diploma with 14 years of equivalent supply chain and/or government subcontracting experience. May consider Associates degree with 12 years of equivalent supply chain and/or government subcontracts experience. May also consider Masters Degree with a minimum of 8 years of supply chain and/or government subcontracts experience

  • General knowledge of FAR/DFARS and associated Federal Contracting regulations.

  • Proficiency in the procurement process, including but not limited to source selection, price analysis, negotiations, and risk management.

  • A minimum of 1 year of team lead and/or personnel management

  • Experience with demonstrated leadership and people management skills and with the ability to model and promote a strong sense of engagement, teamwork, and cooperation.

  • Understanding of general subcontract execution workflows

  • Demonstrated success in continuous process improvement initiatives.

  • US citizen and ability to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance.
     

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 8+ years of experience working in supply chain management including purchasing and procurement.

  • Management experience of 2+ years

  • International procurement & subcontract experience

  • Industry certifications in supply chain field (ISM, APICS, etc.)

  • Aerospace and defense experience

  • Experience using SAP.

Salary Range: $116,200 USD - $174,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
