Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Principal Compensation Analyst at its Corporate Office in Falls Church, VA. Reporting to the Manager of Equity Compensation, the successful candidate will support the administration of the company’s stock and cash long-term incentive plans for domestic and international participants.

The candidate will provide compensation support for the executive population, including the preparation of VP packages, analyses and stock ownership reviews.   

Responsibilities, key experiences and core skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Administer accurate processing and disclosure of all Long-term Incentive (LTI) cash and stock transactions.

  • Analyze data to support the auditing activity with Financial Accounting and Tax including stock reconciliation between the transfer agent, our third party administrator and Financial Accounting.

  • Extensive collaboration with payroll, information systems specialists and outside vendors to ensure compliance with stock/cash plans.    

  • Track terminations to ensure the treatment of outstanding awards are accurate within Fidelity, our third party administrator, and employee tax profiles are updated appropriately.

  • Maintain stock plan documentation for both internal and SOX compliance.

  • Assist in preparing the annual review of stock ownership guidelines for appointed and elected officers.

  • Conduct research and analyses in support of the Company’s 10-K and proxy reporting, litigation activities, tax, compensation, labor and securities law, financial planning and reporting activities.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel  

  • Experience with process improvement and automation.

  • Ability to work independently, collaborate and build strong working relationships across the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, ability to demonstrate judgment in working through complex transactions and communicate observations and insights from multiple data sources.

  • Demonstrated focus on quality of work and attention to detail.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Engineering/Math, Finance, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience  for a public company with international locations or master's degree in Business, Human Resources, Math, Finance, Information Systems or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience for a public company with US and international locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of stock administration experience.

  • Possess a Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.

  • Experience working with Fidelity Systems (Stock Plan Services).


Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
