Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Principal Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting the Global Sustainment & Modernization Division. This position will be on-site in Lake Charles, LA.

As a Principal Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will have the opportunity to partner with an internal client base to deliver exceptional HR support in the areas of performance management, talent and career development, staffing and retention etc. aligned to our Human Capital Strategy. You will work closely with leadership and employees in alignment with the business objectives and goals to build employee engagement, resolve employee relations, develop solutions and retention strategies. In addition, you'll have opportunities to participate in and lead strategic HR projects, utilizing the ability to plan, organize, implement and complete projects simultaneously on various topics within the HR scope.

Responsibilities:

-Interprets, applies, implements and consults/advises on a variety of initiatives such as talent development, compensation, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, organizational change management and policy

-Supports manager-level leaders and above in a dispersed environment

-Supports many projects at one time with competing priorities

-Utilizes strong project management skills and attention to detail

-Builds lasting relationships and collaborative partnerships as the basis for influencing direction and driving change

-Dissects the root cause or core problem to solve and bring appropriate solutions and resources to bear

-Drives leader development and succession planning strategies/processes with a "talent mindset"

-Assesses, diagnoses and designs creative and innovate organizational solutions

-Translates business strategy into implications for workforce (hiring, shaping, etc.)

-Strategically visualizes the big picture and connects the dots, diving into the details as necessary

Basic Qualifications for Principal Human Resources Business Partner:

  • Must have a high school diploma or a GED with a minimum of 10 plus years in HR or related experience.
  • Will also consider:
    • Bachelor's degree required plus a minimum of 6 plus years of experience in HR or related field
    • Master’s degree required plus a minimum of 4 plus years of experience in HR or related field
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others. Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have ability to travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications for Principal Human Resource Business Partner:

  • Strong HR foundation
  • PHR/SPHR/HRCI certification
  • Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and technology, with preferred applications experience in WorkDay or SAP

Salary Range: $74,600 USD - $111,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
