Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Human Resources organization. This HRBP will be responsible for implementing our human capital strategy in support of clients in Iuka, MS, and will require occasional travel to various sites.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements Human Resources policies as a generalist, partnering with the site to ensure a complete understanding of business needs and objectives and resolves HR issues
  • Responsible for and/or serves as a HR liaison for most of the following areas: succession planning, talent management, labor relations, employment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, EEO, and/or training and development
  • Establishes intimate understanding of the business, build, and expand relationships with client leadership teams, and create close partnerships across the organizations
  • Maintains credibility as a subject matter expert in HR policies and procedures
  • Identifies trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with leadership.  Advise leadership on new ideas and winning practices in the areas of talent acquisition, assessment, development, compensation, organizational effectiveness, strategy, on-boarding, change management and communications
  • Analyzes and concisely presents information to the management team to enable business growth and sound decision-making
  • Provides business insight through data analysis, research, and benchmarking
  • Plays a key change leadership role in the company’s transformation by reinforcing a culture of growth, innovation and calculated risk-taking through the application of human capital strategy, tools, and processes
  • Supports and enables leaders to make informed decisions about talent and to hold their organizations accountable for business results

Additional Background and Experience:

  • Ability to drive HR initiatives (can start with a blank sheet, design a plan/program/process and execute on a timeline).
  • Strong relationship building skills; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis for being able to influence direction and drive change.
  • Strong consulting skills; able to dissect the root cause or core problem to solve and bring appropriate solutions and resources to bear.
  • Proven track record of being able to assess, diagnose and design creative and innovate organizational solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to translate business strategy into implications for workforce (hiring, shaping, etc.).
  • Strategic thinking – sees the big picture and connects the dots; also dives into the details as necessary.
  • Strong technical competence across one or more HR disciplines: Compensation, Staffing/Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development, Talent Management, Organization Design/Development, Employee Relations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in HR or related field OR Master's degree and 4 years of experience in HR or related field
  • Proven experience in being proactive in building relationship with leaders
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to support the business and HR team with minimal task supervision, utilizing relationships to ensure alignment with organizational priorities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred degree in Human Resource management, Business, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to be flexible and adjust direction when needed
  • Experience working in a hard to recruit or highly competitive labor market where retention and talent acquisition is critical
  • Working knowledge of the Workday platforms and technology
  • Experience in proactive HR assessment, diagnosis and solutioning of business challenges
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling, and following up on all project related items


Salary Range: $70,600 USD - $106,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
