Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Cyber Software Engineer. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Sentinel program.
What You'll Get To Do:
- Design and Implement Cybersecurity Software solutions (ex: SIEM, SOAR, and Endpoint Security) for weapon systems
- Administer systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems
- Automate system deployment, operation and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) tooling
- Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
- Automate cloud native technologies in air-gapped environments, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
- Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations
- Work with systems engineering teams to define software requirements, architecture, and verification procedures.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science with 2 years of experience or Master's degree with 1 year of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Must be a US Citizen and have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Experience designing security principles, processes, and best practices
- Experience designing security solutions for enterprise infrastructures and architectures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and implementing SIEM/SOAR tools such as Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike, CarbonBlack, or Swimlane
- Experience with network design, virtual environments, and cyber systems design is preferred.
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) Tools such as: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Packer, GitLab, etc. (air-gapped implementations)
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g, Security+, etc.)
