Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Lab Operations Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Edwards AFB, CA.
The selected candidate will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. The selected candidate will interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software along with coordinating installation and providing backup recovery. This individual will also develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties for the selected candidate may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Cyber Operations supports multiple shifts. Training will occur on first shift; however, the successful candidate will support the 3/10 weekend shift. Additional compensation applies to alternate shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain availability of Test Station, Software Development Environment, and Simulators
- Ensure systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans
- Ensure adherence to Cyber Operations Policy and Procedures
- Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support certification and accreditation of systems
- Periodically conduct a complete review of system audits and monitor corrective actions
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- Minimum of 5 years of Cyber and/or System Administration experience or of 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM) or 0 years with a PhD in Science, Technical, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- Current DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE
- Systems Administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments
- Cybersecurity/Information Assurance experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Must be willing to work various shifts depending on the business needs: 4x10 schedule (Mon-Thurs) 1st shift; 4x10 (Mon-Thurs) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sa, Su) 2nd shift; 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sa, Su) 1st shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability
- Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication and migration
- Experience operating and configuring security relevant tools such as Splunk and Nessus
