Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within the Lab Operations, Engineering and Test Department. This role is in Palmdale, CA.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.
In this role you will plan, design, configure, and install network hardware in support of customer requirements. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware / software interconnection, as well as interfaces, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.
Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Creating and ensuring that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions
Participating in peer review of network documentation and configurations
Providing regular monitoring, and network analysis, regarding short and long-range planning for SIL systems
Coordinating third-party maintenance for network equipment
Designing networks, or portions of networks, including the selection of hardware and software packages
Performing troubleshooting analysis of network infrastructure and associated systems
Installing and configuring various vendors routers, switches and firewalls
Periodically providing after-hours and weekend support
Implementing and troubleshooting Internet Protocol (IP) routing protocols

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline AND 2 years of qualifiable professional/military experience in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; OR Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of experience
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs, prior to the start of employment
- Must be willing and able to work various shifts depending on the business needs.
- Professional experience with LAN/WAN based networks, (E.g. designing and maintaining networks, managing routing protocols on large LAN environments, etc.)
- Professional experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related
- Current SCI, or SAP/SAR access
Network+ certification and/or a Cisco CCNA (or a CCNA) or other Network Certification
Security+ certified
Network design, analysis, and administration of routers, switches, and firewalls
Experience in the use of network analysis tools (i.e. WireShark, SolarWinds, etc.)
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
