Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, you will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products. Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinating installation and providing backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.  Lab Operations Cyber supports multiple shifts.  Training will occur on first shift; however, successful candidate may be placed on second shift or weekend shift - additional compensation applies to alternate shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain availability of Test Station and Software Development Environment 

  • Ensure systems adhere to program configuration and data management plans

  • Ensure Lab Operations Policy and Procedures as being executed and updated

  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and support certification and accreditation of systems

  • Periodically conduct a complete review of system audits and monitor corrective actions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree AND 9 years of related experience OR Master’s of Science Degree AND 7 years of related experience OR PhD AND 4 years of related experience OR in lieu of a degree, 13 years of related experience

  • Must have DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE 

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain program access prior to commencement of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Systems Administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments

  • Cybersecurity/Information Assurance experience

  • Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution and high availability

  • Experience implementing storage allocation, reclamation, replication and migration

  • Experience operating and configuring security relevant tools such as Splunk and Nessus


Salary Range: $119,400 USD - $179,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
