Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Database Engineer to become part of Northrop Grumman's Ground Satellite Communications Team in Orlando, Florida.

NGDS is an industry leader in developing, integrating, and sustaining complex systems.  Our team performs a variety of tasks leading to the successful integration, test, and deployment of complex DoD systems worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• PostgreSQL database administration. 
• The application of the database is supporting ground-based satellite communications . 
• Work from and develop systems documents and specifications, follow written and verbal instructions, and conduct test and report data and results in prescribed formats.

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's in STEM degree with 9 years of experience OR Master's in STEM degree with 7 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience administering Postgres databases
• Experience with EDB's specific implementation of Postgress
• Experience with EDB's specific implementation of replication, xDB
• Ensuring uptime and availability of the database
• Meeting SLA requirements for database and data requests
• Ensuring that database components are kept up to date and are patched within enterprise guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with database development
• Demonstrated experience performing Database specific STIG assessments
• Experience with Commvault

Salary Range: $101,600 USD - $152,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
