Are you interested in defining possible? Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team! 

This position will primarily be located at our customer site in Northern Virginia and will support the SIGINT Technology Center's (STC) Falkor Program team. The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support operations and maintenance of fielded SIGINT systems
  • Design, integration, test, and operation of hardware components and high-level systems
  • Interface and collaborate with customers, end users, operators, and Field Service Representatives, including but not limited to:

- travel to integration and validation sites for system verification & validation

- remote support for Field Service Representatives

- on-call pager support

-on-call Subject Matter Expertise support

  • Establish and collaborate with floor support team and SMEs to address daily floor needs
  • Communicate floor needs, schedule and shift summaries to floor support team
  • Evaluate viable vendor hardware and software solutions to meet customers' mission objectives
  • Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures for use in real time operations, OCONUS test sites, and System Integration Labs (SILs)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to upgrade and improve developmental and fielded systems to maximize uptime and capability
  • Ability to be the main NG presence at customer site on a daily basis, facilitating real time communications between the customer and the NG team at the STC

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active TS/SCI with an active Polygraph 
  • Qualified applicant must have 9 Years of experience with a bachelor's in science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD or will accept 13 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Knowledge of modern wireless communication systems
  • Knowledge of RF system components & functions
  • Familiarity with the SIGINT Technology Center (STC)
  • Experience in operations and maintenance of SIGINT/EW systems and workflows
  • Subject matter expert in specific classified operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Virtual Machine (VM) implementation and usage
  • Knowledge of Direction Finding (DF) and geolocation algorithms

Salary Range: $142,800 USD - $214,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
