Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections

What you’ll get to do?

You will have the opportunity to design, develop, document, test, and debug enterprise tools and support software written in various computer languages, primarily Angular and C#. You will ensure that the developed software is effective and takes into consideration performance and security implications. Our ongoing programs are involved in technology upgrades to include Agile DevOps and virtualization frameworks.  We cover a wide variety of DevOps technologies including Atlassian suite of tools (Bamboo, Jira, Bitbucket), Fortify, Ansible, and many more.

You must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, have the ability to interface with other groups within the project including distributed teams, well-developed problem-solving skills, and ability to work within a dynamic environment. You will need to work well under general direction and be able to determine and develop technical solutions to complex problems independently.

Essential Functions:
  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.

  • Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
  • Various other functions to support program execution and deliveries

Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either the Software Development Analyst or Principal Software Development Analyst level.

Basic Qualifications of a Principal Software Development Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience; Master's degree with 3 years of related experience; PhD with 0 years of related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated experience quickly learning new concepts and approaches
  • Proficiency in the following: database application development using Angular framework and Typescript for client side, Microsoft .NET Framework versions 4 and up (6 preferably) and C# for the middleware, and SQL script development using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency and interest in some of the below is highly beneficial for this role.

  • Active, in scope DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Willing and interested in learning new technologies
  • Fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Agile methodologies and techniques, continuous integration
  • Coding and design of algorithmic applications
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), to generate engineering artifacts for hand-off to software development
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management


Salary Range: $104,600 USD - $157,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
