As an integral part of our Software Configuration team in Mission Systems you will focus on helping to develop, enforce, and maintain Software Configuration Management (SCM) processes on large and small scale programs in accordance with the Organization’s Standard Software Process (OSSP) and contractual requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
  • Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
  • Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.
  • Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.
  • Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use
  • Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards
  • Facilitate and scribe for control board meetings
  • Establish and implement procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products

Basic Qualifications for Software Configuration Analyst:

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain an active secret DoD clearance to start
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards
  • 1 year of relevant software configuration management experience

Basic Qualifications for Principal Software Configuration Analyst:

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience or a PhD with 0 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain or maintain an active secret DoD clearance to start
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards
  • 3 years of relevant software configuration management experience
  • Experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret or higher clearance
  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Experience with implementing SCM on a large-scale program
  • Experience with multiple tools and environments (Atlassian, Git, Jira, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux and Windows)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Salary Range: $73,600 USD - $110,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
