Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Configuration Management/Data Management. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program

What You’ll Get To Do: 

  • Serve as consultant to management, contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards, and develop solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. 

  • Candidate must be able to work with all levels of management, program IPT Leads, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, etc. to ensure products are generated, managed, reviewed and approved according to sector-approved processes.

  • Responsible for implementing and managing Data Management processes, which establish, control and maintain program documentation in accordance with GEIA Standard 859. 

  • Provide systematic oversight to ensure the quality and integrity of the program’s data products and apply industry/ISO/DoD standards and specifications to tailored program needs. 

  • Manage and provide schedules, status reports and metrics and interface with multiple disciplines on the GBSD program.

  • Support the implementation of Configuration and Data Management (CDM) activities using our Product Data Management (PDM) tools such as SharePoint, JIRA and CPLM.

  • Strong communication skills and be able to support the Government Customer as well as all levels of management and the IPT teams.

  • Responsible for ensuring program data has been approved, distributed and managed appropriately in accordance with sector and program approved processes.

  • Data Planning, Scheduling and Management requires the DM Analyst to have the skillset to utilize the DD Form 1423, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and the Statement of Work (SOW), scheduling and managing each deliverable based on the contractual delivery requirement.

  • Responsible for validating data and verifying that the data is consistent with existing procedures and guidelines, as well as security markings.  Analysis and validation of project deliverables and non-deliverables, contract and non-contract data requirements, and customer-supplied data are to be performed.

These responsibilities include the following:

  • Data Retention, utilizing approved controls for the delivery of program data

  • Implement controls for safeguarding intellectual property

  • Ensure completeness and eliminate duplication

  • Issues controlled document numbers based on the applicable WBS identification

  • Ensure the appropriate marking of data (e.g. proprietary data rights, classification)

  • Maintain the current and historical metadata regarding data status and customer disposition (approval/disapproval, etc.)

  • Establish and document records, custodians, and project-unique records management requirements

  • Publish and make program documents available for the GBSD team

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Principal Configuration/Data Management:  6 Years of experience with Bachelors; 4 Years with Masters; 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Sr Principal Configuration/Data Management:  10 Years of experience with Bachelors; 8 Years with Masters; 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Active DOD Secret Clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain access to Special Access Program (SAP).

  • Experience and working knowledge of SharePoint, CPLM and MS Office applications.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent written and oral communication skills and detail oriented.  

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience coordinating with IPTs on required deliverables.

  • CPLM knowledge of scheduling in support, planning and production.

  • Knowledge of and experience with configuration control and defect tracking systems.

Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,600 USD - $152,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
