Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual to work at a government customer site in Stafford, Virginia as a Manager Software Development Lead 1 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (STEM) + 5 years of exp: Master's + 3 years of exp; PhD + 0 years and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including relevant technical fields (hardware, software, systems engineering) and functional management or leading technical teams. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS-SCI clearance with CI Poly
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and leadership. 
  •  Must possess organized, logical thought process skills, exhibit a strong work ethic and attention to detail. 
  • 1st shift with rotating weekend support (~every 14 weeks)

Job Description:

As a member of the program’s leadership team, primary roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide overall management and oversight to the Software Maintenance, Software Development, Networks & IT, and Configuration Management personnel.   
  • Provide technical support to system upgrades and continue to assist Government technical representatives with planning for future system modifications, enhancements and recapitalization efforts.  
  • Interface with Program Management and customer representatives daily & weekly to ensure deadlines and needs are met. 
  • Interact with our customer in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, system status meetings, engineering meetings, and project status updates. 
  • Maintain cognizance of short and long-term enhancements to the common command and control system through participation in design reviews and requirements verification. 
  • Ensure baseline systems meet customer’s availability (98%), reliability (93%), and performance requirements through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, recovery, and continuous improvement activities. 
  • Support system evolution and risk mitigation activities; Support/lead customer initiatives/studies. 
  • Function as focal point for technical problems.  Evaluate customer requirements, determine existing capabilities to meet requirements and define, design, develop, and implement system changes to meet requirements that are not met by the existing system. 
  • Manage risk and make advisements for the site including:  System Freeze, Baseline Changes, Major System Upgrades, & Mission Support Priorities.  
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), recapitalization efforts from system requirements, cost and schedule to the development, integration, and testing of replacement systems 
  • Identify and maintain local Operating Instructions. 
  • Fill-in for APM as required.
  • Functional Lead Responsibilities include:  Employee Communications, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Career Development, Employee Rewards and Recognition, and resolving personnel issues. 
  • Support 24/7 weekend rotation

Salary Range: $123,200 USD - $184,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
