The Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS), Global Surveillance division is looking for the right individual to join our software team. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Your responsibilities will include system administrator tasking such as ensuring virus definitions are up to date, capturing audit logs, updating network configurations as needed, etc. The Applications Liaison will interact with Program Management, external suppliers and/or government customers; therefore, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required. This position requires interfaces between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Documents product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Requires general-logic knowledge of system and software capabilities without necessarily the ability to program.

Responsibilities Include “But not limited to.”

  • The position requires that the candidate contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. Problem Solving Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.
  • Discretion/Latitude Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy. Impact Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources as well as problems with customer satisfaction.
  • Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, and other personnel in the section or group. Represents section or group on specific projects.
  • Interfaces between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0 years relevant experience. (Additional years of experience (military or commercial) in the field may be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • Demonstrated experience system administration responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux
  • Excellent Oral and written Communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen and an active, in-scope DoD security clearance at the Top-Secret level with the ability to maintain it.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain special program access.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with related experience
  • U.S. Citizen and an Active DoD Top Secret with issue/reissue in the last 5 years with SCI and the ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance
  • Demonstrated experience with COMSEC equipment
  • CompTIA Security Plus certification
  • CompTIA Linux Plus certification
  • Experience with software or systems test


Salary Range: $55,100 USD - $82,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
