Seeking a Network Engineer to support to a large, classified program.  This multi-faceted position will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of a multitude of systems, and possess technical expertise in all areas of network hardware and interconnection interfaces such are routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways etc.  Provide support to specific areas such as design, implementation, integration, and testing as well as support of the network development life cycle with peer reviews, documentation and configuration management adhering to the project level process plans. 

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 3 = 5 Years with Bachelor’s degree, 3 years with a Master's degree in a related field; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Level 4 = 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Must have active/current Top Secret security clearance with adjudicated Polygraph to be considered**
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Working knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, testing, network communication protocols, network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications.
  • Experience with operating monitoring/analysis tools and test equipment (ie Fireberd, Fluke OptiView, HP Openview., WhatsUp Gold, Protocol Analyzer, Oscilloscope, etc).
  • Familiarity with DISA, Commercial, SCN Comm systems and topology
  • Familiarity with cyber security STIGs compliance and Security Standards/Protocols
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers.
  • Working knowledge of network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, and Domain Name Servers (DNS).
  • Basic system Administration skills/certifications a plus (UNIX, Linux, Windows)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco and/or Juniper certifications such as CCNP or JNCIP
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco and Juniper networks and firewalls
  • Cyber security certification
  • Knowledge of technical control operating records such as circuit history folders, master station logs, trouble tickets, outage and restoration records.
  • Circuit restoration, fault isolation, quality control testing, trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting experience.
  • Experience using design, drawing, and engineering software (ie AutoCAD, MS Visio, etc)
  • Strong interpersonal/leadership skills and experience with a good attitude and courteous demeanor, and strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to mentor and train coworkers.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. 

Salary Range:  Level 3 = $88,000-$132,000; level 4 = $109,100-$163,700

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
