Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Network Engineer - Virtualization to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

Candidate will be a S8.2 System Development Engineer responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing the S8.2 C2BMC network virtualized server systems using VMWare and WIN Server technologies. Some travel may be required depending on the work to be performed.
 

Basic Qualifications:

If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 5 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 9 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • System engineer with hands-on experience and knowledge of virtualization design, development, testing methodologies; experience with VMware (vCenter), ESX servers, NetApp NAS/SAN, Windows servers and SQL servers.
  • An in-depth understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols, network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience
  • Microsoft Windows server experience with multi-user applications
  • Redhat server experience with multi-user applications
  • VMware server installation, configuration, management performance monitoring and tuning of virtual machines ESXi servers
  • Experience with virtual machine troubleshooting and performance issues
  • Experience creating VM deployment templates and automated deployments
  • Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as, STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
  • Through understanding of Network Attached Storage, specifically NetApp FAS series
  • Storage Area Network experience with high availability and performance for virtualization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VMware Certified Technical Associate
  • Data Center Virtualization (VCTA) VMware Certified Professional
  • Data Center Virtualization (VCP) VCAP Design, VCAP Deploy, VCDX
  • Candidates with prior C2BMC network experience are highly desired.
  • Also desire candidates with knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark).
  • Authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (ACS, Active Directory, GEM-X), Virtualization technologies such a VMware vCenter and vSphere.

This position reports to Schriever AFB, CO, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Colorado Springs, CO, CO, USA.


Salary Range: $77,200 USD - $115,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
