Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Network Communication Engineer to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Des Moines, IA. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, implementing, and managing program networks and equipment.
Actual Job Location: 132 WG Air National Guard Base in Des Moines, Iowa
Responsibilities Include:
- Support the architecting, engineering, and maintenance of mission networks.
- Configure all program mission network (WAN/LAN) equipment to include firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Maintain expertise in standard voice, data, video network and cryptographic OTTI (Operational Training and Test Infrastructure) technologies.
- Establish work standards, methods, and controls for preventative, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions.
- Work as part of project team in design and integration of OTTI (Operational Training and Test Infrastructure) technologies and solutions to meet mission requirements.
- Support Host Base Security System (HBSS) and SIEM solutions and continuous monitoring.
- Identify, analyze, and document long range requirements.
- Must maintain Security Plus certification
- Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of experience OR 0 years with Master's OR 6 years' experience in lieu of degree
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.
- Certifiable knowledge of networking operations and associated peripheral equipment: LANs, WANs, VLANS, remote access systems, routers, firewalls, bridges, and copper/fiber cabling
- Expertise in principles, practices, and techniques in the installation and maintenance of hardware
- Expertise in network management tools and problem analysis techniques
- Familiarity with applying Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Checklists and basic critical analysis/troubleshooting in the application of the STIG
- Experience analyzing network traffic and troubleshooting DIS/HLA packets using Wireshark, DPA, or similar software tools
- Must possess and maintain Security + certification
- DISA ACAS Training/Certified
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
