Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Network Communications Manager 2 to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) at Fort Leavenworth in Leavenworth, Kansas.
This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.
Conducts overall management coordination for all training environments: technical, networking, exercise design, and required operational support
Manages integrated teams of subject matter experts in networking, cyber security, and Mission Command Systems (Fires, Intel, Manuever, and Air)
Leads the technical team to:
install, operate, integrate, and troubleshoot communications, applications, and configurations
establish network addresses and connections
monitor and analyze system performance
recommend and perform application maintenance and upgrade applications as needed
conduct data backups and system recovery
install information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA) patches, security updates, respond to critical vulnerabilities, and conduct remediation before, during, and after training exercises using the JLCCTC suite and a friend of the federation.
Coordinates Mission Command Assistance Team (MCAT) support at the Mission Training Center (MTC) or the Training Unit Commander (TUC) point of need.
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 9 years of leadership experience
Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience
Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, network planning, and use of Army Maneuver Control Systems (MCSs)
Must have or acquire DOD 8570.010-M baseline certifications and specialty training for IAT-I position within the first 180 days of appointment
Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) security clearance
Must fully understand the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assess and Authorize process and Cyber Security requirements
Must be able to frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds around the worksite
Must be able to support shifts that occur outside standard working hours and work weeks that exceed 40 hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Leavenworth, Kansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Hold additional CompTIA ceritifications (such as Network+ and/or A+)
Vendor certifications for Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Windows, Server, and Redhat Linux
Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, Redhat Linux, and VMware
