Northrop Grumman's Global Operations Security organization is seeking an IT Network Engineer supporting the Cincinnati, OH location. This is a full time Network Engineer position reporting to the Regional Network Operations Manager. The successful candidate will provide network engineering and design duties for the NGUSN site networks.

 

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Design, plan and deploy network communications systems.

  • Provides specifications and detailed schematics for NG site network architecture.

  • Provide specific detailed information for network hardware and software selection, including present and future capacity requirements.

  • Provide documentation as required to ensure accurate and current information is available for each site network.

  • Conduct testing of network design.

  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, firewalls, deep packet inspection analysis, application packet analysis, switches (Nexus and Catalyst), and proxies (Reverse and Forward), etc.

  • Provide guidance to junior engineers and other personnel to maintain and ensure domestic and international data centers are compliant with published directives and procedures.

  • Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

  • Flexible hours are required, with a willingness to work weekends/off hours as needed for planned work or unplanned break/fix support.

  • Lift 40 lbs

  • Some travel will be required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of experience; 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree.

  • Experience with Cisco routers, switches, load-balancers, and firewalls.

  • Experience performing network forensics.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD Top Secret clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco certification.

  • Active Top Secret Clearance or higher.

  • Experience with F-5, Palo Alto Networks, VMware is a plus.

  • Experience with BGP, OSPF and DNS.

  • Experience with MS PowerPoint and Visio to transform complex technical information into high-level, concise and clear presentations.

  • Experience in project management.

Salary Range: $86,300 USD - $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
