Description
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Network Engineering Manager 1 to manage a team of System Administrators across multiple programs and efforts.
This position is a Network Engineering Management role within the Defense Systems Unmanned Arial Vehicle program and will report directly to the Network Engineer Manager.

Essential Functions:
- Lead a team of Network Engineers and Systems Administrators performing direct work on Information Systems and other computer models.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
- Use good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with program-assigned technicians and systems engineers, management ensure the computer systems and software stays in a high state of readiness. Maintain a high quality of system efficiency.
- Oversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization’s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems.
- Develop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and create work assignments for indirect tasking.
The successful candidate will have a current full-time Program assignment; with a subset of the time allocated to Functional Manage duties, which fluctuate throughout the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in System Administration/Network Engineering with 5 years experience OR 8 or more years of System Administration with management experience
- CompTIA Security +
- Full understanding knowledge of Microsoft Windows software and Linux Flavor OS’s
- Extensive technical expertise with VMware, or other virtualization specialties
- Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Windows Active Directory, VMware processes and Configuration Management as it pertains to software/hardware management
- Exceptional leadership skills to coordinate collaboration across different Software, engineering, Government, and contractor teams
- Demonstrated mastery in various competencies of Teaching, Mentoring, and Facilitation
- An Active Top Secret clearance

- Proven interaction in a distributed team environment
