Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Principal Systems Software Analyst. This Position is located on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas working for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). You will play a pivotal role in building and sustaining the robust Cybersecurity posture of the programs classified systems and networks used for development, integration, test, training and operation. You will be responsible for building, patching and maintaining various technical systems to support the MCTP technical infrastructure.
These activities include but are not limited to:
- Performing vulnerability assessments and compliance audits of systems and networks
- Performing IA/cybersecurity patching and development of patch list
- Selecting DISA STIGs and hardening systems
- Sustaining the system’s Trellix endpoint security solutions products
- Developing and verifying system, sub-system and component level requirements derived from the SP800-53 security and privacy controls with the appropriate overlays
- Supporting development, verification and validation of system design changes while maintaining or improving cybersecurity compliance
- Participating in cross-functional team coordination meetings, including weekly program flow down, program management status, and daily technical meetings
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with 9 years of relevant experience, or
- 5 years relevant Cybersecurity experience with Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related STEM field, or
- 3 years relevant experience with Master’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related STEM field
- Active IAT Level II (CompTIA Security +) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Active Secret security clearance
- Experience with Windows Server and SQL
- Intermediate proficiency in Bourne Again SHell (BASH) and/or Windows Powershell
- Experience with Hyper-v and/or VMware
- Experience with utilizing intermediate to advanced technical knowledge base and skillset to independently work within a team in cybersecurity projects and tasks IAW required DoD security and cybersecurity instructions, policies, frameworks, etc. including:
- Scanning reporting remediating and/or mitigating cybersecurity vulnerabilities discovered using audit reductions tools and/or the DISA ACAS tool (Tenable Security Center and Tenable NESSUS Scanner)
- Performing routine system and network patching
Preferred Qualifications:
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of security risks & strategies, SIEM, antivirus proxies, firewalls, intrusion detection concepts, tools and processes
- experience developing Ports, Protocols and Services Matrix (PPSM) IAW DoD Instruction 8551.01
- Experience installing and configuring ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO)
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices and principles for release management
- Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, Proxmox
- Experience with GitLab and Wazuh
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory (AD)
- Experience with Trellix Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS)
- Experience and understanding of Patch Management including tools such as Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (e.g., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Active Top Secret security clearance
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
