Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Computer Systems Analyst - Network Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Administrator to join our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our III Corps Mission Command Training program at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. The Principal Network NIPR Administrator will be the Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN) Team Lead and perform information assurance technical (IAT) I, IAT II, and Information System Security (ISSO) duties providing support to all the Mission Training Complex (MTC) buildings.  

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the other NIPR ICAN technician performs their daily duties

  • Support all MTC users (government, contractor, and military) with NIPR ICAN support which includes hardware, software, and configuration

  • Work with the Fort Hood Network Enterprise Center (NEC) representatives as necessary with NIPR ICAN and user problems, which include research NIPR user and system problems, submit and work remedy tickets, and escort NEC personnel when visiting MTC buildings

  • Update and maintain the NIPR Tenant Security Plan (TSP) documentation, which includes building and room VISIO diagrams, exceptions memos, the TSP document, and other required documentation, maintain Appendix C inventory, update Internet Service Provider (ISP) required documentation, and submit Configuration Control Board (CCB) documentation, when required

  • Assist units and other organizations, and coordinate with the Fort Hood NEC for exercise and training NIPR connections, by verifying unit and other organization systems in Active Directory (AD), submitting remedy tickets to the NEC for non-Fort Hood NIPR systems or work with local units for ticket submission and approval, check NIPR systems in for units and other organizations, and work with units and other organizations to place NIPR VOIPs in work cells

  • Maintain and allow permissions for server shares (groups)

  • Perform monthly backup of share drive

  • Invoke warranties, research repair parts, and turn-in purchase requests

  • Escort Vendor repair personnel when visiting MTC buildings for repairs

  • Image NIPR systems and perform unit organization administrator (OA) duties, which include extend, disable, or delete MTC NIPR user accounts in AD, disable NIPR computers when needed, submit monthly remedy list to the NEC Installation-Information System Security Manager (ISSM), maintain NEC training requirements to keep OA status, and attend NEC Information Technology Working Groups (ITWGs)

  • In-process and out-process NIPR users, which includes creating and getting signed required documentation (DD 2875s, etc.), move under or remove user from Fort Hood MTC or help user request Army Training and Certification Tracking System (ATCTS) account, help user with cyber awareness training, if not recent, and Create NIPR user accounts

  • Perform information assurance technical (IAT) I, IAT II, and ISSO duties for the Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) ICAN

  • Support all MTC users (government, contractor, and military) with SIPR ICAN support which includes hardware, software, and configuration

  • Work with the Fort Hood NEC representatives as necessary with NIPR ICAN and user problems.  The employee will research SIPR user and system problems.  The employee will submit and work remedy tickets.  The employee will escort NEC personnel when visiting MTC buildings.  The employee will maintain and allow permissions for server shares (groups)

  • Maintain Orders, DD 2875 forms, Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), Privileged User Agreement (PUA)/Privileged Access Agreement (PAA), Keyboard Video Mouse AUPs for all MTC personnel.  The employee will create, verify, get signed, and upload into ATCTS for NIPR, SIPR, and Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Perform information assurance technical (IAT) I, IAT II, and ISSO Information Assurance Manager (IAM) II duties for the MTC Type-Authority to Operate (ATO) for the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Network.  The employee will build, maintain, configure, and update systems (Army Gold Master (AGM), Operating system, .NET, all Applications, etc.); apply Information Assurance Vulnerability Managements (IAVMS) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), run the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool, download patches, updates plugs in, run vulnerability scans on the:  (STIGs applied: Redhat Linux, Windows 10, Office)

  • Download and apply Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) updates and plug-ins manually on the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) Security Centers and NESSUS systems.  The employee will assist other System Administrators (SAs) with ACAS and NESSUS issues

  • Update, configure, and maintain standalone virus scanners, configuration laptops, briefing laptops, and display laptops by downloading and applying weekly antivirus data updates, applying STIGs and maintain checklists, downloading and applying Operating System and application updates, and maintaining documentation for each system showing when updates, etc. were applied while maintaining a copy of the vulnerability scan

  • Will assist other SAs with trouble shooting

  • Update and maintain RMF documentation as needed

  • Upload documentation into Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and when required add write-ups for compliant, non-compliant, and not applicable security controls

  • Perform duties as the Telephone Control Officer (TCO) for all the MTC buildings

  • Update diagrams and maintain E911 forms

  • Submit and work remedy tickets

  • Escort NEC personnel when visiting MTC buildings

  • Download and apply STIGs on Black Berry phones and maintain checklists

  • Act as the business manager for the Army’s training database ATCTS for the MTC

  • Manage, update, and verify all MTC users, and technicians

  • Manage training certs and certifications

  • Update the local tacking database and inform users of requirements

  • Update other teams with security compliance information and training

  • Provide reports to Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Security Manager, Security Specialist, and others as required

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software

  • Assist Spoke sites (Bliss, Carson, Riley, Joint Base San Antonio, and Sill)

  • Scan peripherals for viruses

  • Escort Department of Public Works (DPW) facility personnel in secure rooms for maintenance, repairs, and Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) unit filter replacements

  • Work with ISSM and ISSO on U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC), Installation Management Command (IMCOM), and Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) projects

  • Work with the Security Manager, ISSM, and ISSO to ensure Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) standards are followed

  • Work with the Security Manager and Specialist to meet all physical security measures

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:

    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 9 years of Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity & Information Assurance (IA), or related technical experience

    • Bachelor of Science degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related technical experience

    • Master of Science degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of CS, IT, Cybersecurity & IA, or related technical experience

  • CompTIA Security + certified

  • Must hold a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance 

  • Must have administrative knowledge of Redhat Linux, Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Windows 10, ACAS, and VMware.  Obtain computer environment certificate of training for all Operating Systems supported (this can be done on an approved Army site)

  • Must have knowledge of AD and Domain Controller

  • Must understand RMF

  • Employee will frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds around the worksite

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision on assigned tasks

  • Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week

  • Must be able to travel to CONUS locations as required (up to 10% of the time)

  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Hood in Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold additional COMPTIA certifications Network + and A+

  • Vender certifications for Windows, Server, and Redhat Linux

Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
