Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for Network Engineers (multiple positions) to join the Command and Control, Communication and Computer Missile Defense (C4MD) Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL. This position is capable of placing candidates on the SHORAD, WISLA team, IBCS team, and anywhere within C4MD.

The Network Engineer: Designs and plans network communications systems. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

This position may be filled as a Principal Network Engineer or Sr. Principal Network Engineer.

Basic Qualifications:

• Principal Network Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; 0 years with a PhD;
• Senior Principal Network Engineer: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 9 years of experience; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; 4 years with a PhD; OR additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification”
• Good understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP subnetting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
• CLEARANCE:  Must have active secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain secret clearance
• CCNP Cert, SEC+, Layer 2/Layer 3, OSI Model, OSPF,  Cisco switches/routers-

Preferred Qualifications

• DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.

Salary Range: $86,000 USD - $129,000 USD

Salary Range 2: $107,000 USD - $160,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
