Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal System Administrator (level 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals for a position based out of Palmdale, Ca.

You will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. You will interact with users and evaluate vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. You will also develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

NG Skills
 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of relevant experience; or 6 years experience with a Bachelors Degree; or 4 years experience with Masters.
  • Collaborate with our customer, internal NG sites and other engineering disciplines
  • Design and implement system security protocols for quality, robustness, and scale
  • Perform and maintain security backups in case of server or program malfunctions
  • Participate in Continuous Integration
  • Networking Experience
  • Account Access Management
  • Security and Monitoring Experience
  • Scripting Languages and Automation
  • Willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days- a-week, and 365 days a year.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds. 
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Must have an active DoD Top Secret security clearance and be able to maintain that clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Linux and Windows servers in an Active Directory enterprise environment
  • Experience with VMWare Automation tools such as vCenter, HorizonView, vRealize Ops Manager, etc
  • Experience with Linux Shell, Powershell, or Python scripting
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance processes for various USG classified networks
  • Experience of Active Directory forests, including root and child domains
  • Current Security Plus Certification

Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
